Spike in iOS 6 activity not related to Google Maps after all, says Chitika

Earlier this week several news outlets reported that iOS 6 adoption jumped 29 percent following the debut of the Google Maps app in the App Store. The latest data from advertising firm Chitika, however, suggests that only part of that statement might have been accurate.

Apple's iPhone 5 starts strong in China but shares pressured

(Reuters) - Apple Inc said it sold more than 2 million of its new iPhone 5 in China during the three days after its launch there on Friday, marking China's best-selling iPhone rollout ever.

Wal-Mart selling Apple's iPhone 5 at big discount

(Reuters) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc said on Friday that it began selling Apple Inc's flagship iPhone 5 smartphone at a big discount in thousands of its stores.

Samsung teaser video says something new is coming at CES 2013

Samsung recently posted a teaser video on their YouTube page for an upcoming product that will be announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January. The video doesn’t reveal anything particular but many believe we’ll see the Korean electronics giant unveil the Galaxy S IV handset next month.

Apple begins selling unlocked iPhone 5 in the US

Apple has finally begun selling factory-unlocked iPhone 5 smartphones in the US. As with previous releases, the move comes roughly two month after carrier locked versions went on sale in the country, whereas Canada and some European nations see both versions launch alogside each other. The unlocked phone starts at $649 for 16GB of storage, with the 32GB and 64GB models adding an extra $100 and $200, respectively.
