LG beats Samsung to the punch with their 55-inch OLED TV

                    
LG was able to beat Samsung to the punch with regards to launching a 55-inch OLED TV. The technology isn’t new by any stretch of the imagination but thus far it has proven difficult to mass produce large OLED displays. But even with the milestone behind them, there’s no clear road to success with OLED sets as another technology looks to be the next big thing in home entertainment.

Samsung sues LG for allegedly copying PLS display technology

Samsung has hit LG with another lawsuit, this time for purportedly infringing on LCD patents. Filed with the Seoul Central District Court, the complaint aims to invalidate seven LG patents that allegedly copy a plane-to-line switching (PLS) design that Samsung patented in 1997. Samsung claims that LG modified and renamed the PLS technology to AH-IPS for use in various small and medium LCD panels.

LG releases 29-inch ultra widescreen IPS monitor with 29:9 aspect ratio


I’ve been a proponent of multi-monitor setups for years. Having multiple displays at your disposal can increase productivity exponentially thanks to the added screen resolution, especially if you work behind a keyboard day in and day out. Not to mention the fact that it just looks pretty cool as well – well that is, until I saw LG’s new EA93 ultra widescreen monitor.
