(Reuters) - A decision by U.S. regulators to end a probe into whether Google Inc hurt rivals by manipulating internet searches will not affect the European Union's examination of the company.
Jelly Bean is now on 10 percent of Android devices
Google has updated its Android Developer Dashboard site with data about the percentage of active devices running a given version of its mobile operating system. Unsurprisingly, the holiday season marked a few shifts in the version distribution of the platform, with Android 4.2 and 4.1 -- both named Jelly Bean -- breaking the 10 percent milestone for the first time in six months.

Intel is planning to unveil a set-top box and TV service at CES
Intel is reportedly set to unveil a set-top box as well as a cloud-based television service at the Consumer Electronics Show later this month in Las Vegas. The initial plan is to roll the service out on a city by city basis which will give the chip maker enough time to work out various licensing issues that are sure to spring up.

Pakistan lifts YouTube ban, reinstates ban minutes later
When YouTube refused to take down a controversial video called "Innocence of Muslims" this summer, a small number of violent protests were sparked. Pakistani officials reacted by imposing a country-wide block of YouTube. According to the New York Times, YouTube was made available for only three minutes before Pakistani officials pulled the plug once more. According to other, unverified accounts, YouTube access may have lasted up to 90 minutes -- something which may be confirmed by Google's Transparency Report.

Apple and Google activated 17 million devices on Christmas Day
Apple and Google likely have a lot to be happy about following this year’s holiday season. According to data recently released from mobile app analytics firm Flurry, the two companies combined to activate 17.4 million devices on Christmas Day. That’s good for a 332 percent increase over the average number of activations in December and more than 2.5 times more than on Christmas Day a year ago.

Google may be planning $99 Nexus 7 tablet
Get your salt shakers ready. According to unnamed sources from Shenzhen-based supplier O-Film Tech (via Digitimes), the Google Nexus 7 may be in for a very substantial price drop. Purportedly, the Asus-made tablet could dip as low as $99, making it by far the least expensive device in its class. A tummy tuck may also be in store for the tablet, possibly sporting an even thinner design.

(Reuters) - Google Inc agreed to sell set-top TV box maker Motorola Home to Arris Group Inc for $2.35 billion in cash and stock, the companies said on Wednesday.
Kodak sells patent portfolio to 12-company consortium for $525M
Eastman Kodak has announced an agreement to sell a large bundle of patents to a consortium of buyers for $525 million. As we reported on back in August, Apple and Google are indeed among the group that will gain access to the Kodak portfolio and other Kodak patents. Furthermore, the deal will settle all patent-related litigation between the imaging company and those buying into the portfolio.
