Some iPhones to refuse to ring due to New Year's DND bug
A number of iPhone users may be questioning their popularity this year thanks to a New Year's-induced bug in iOS 6. As the year-o-meter rolled over into 2013, some iPhones simply refused -- and may yet still refuse -- to ring while receiving an incoming call. This behavior is due to an iOS scheduling bug which has enabled its Do Not Disturb feature in perpetuity.

Toshiba creating Lytro-like camera for smartphones and tablets
Toshiba is developing a new camera for mobile devices that will allow users to adjust the focus of shots after they're taken. The new module measures about a centimeter per side and carries an array of half a million lenses that measure 0.03mm in diameter and are positioned in front of an image sensor that spans 5x7mm.

Purportedly, the Asus-made tablet could dip as low as $99, making it by far the least expensive device in its class. Dell urged Microsoft to avoid using 'Windows' brand for Surface RT
It was recently revealed during the Dell World conference in Austin, Texas, that Dell executive Jeffrey Clarke urged Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer to not use the Windows name as branding for Redmond’s Windows RT operating system. (Reuters) - A Dutch court ruled on Wednesday that some of Samsung Electronics' Galaxy smartphones and tablets infringe an Apple patent in the latest round of the two firms' worldwide battle.

Asus has reportedly delayed the launch of its upcoming dual-screen Taichi ultrabooks. Unveiled at Computex in June, the hybrid systems were originally due to ship in November, soon after last month's release of Windows 8, but an Asus representative has told PCWorld that units aren't likely to hit US shelves until December or later, though no additional details were provided. Given that news, retailers including Amazon, Newegg and TigerDirect have halted preorders, which have been ongoing since early October.

Wsservice_crk has actually been available for at least a month -- most notably at the MyDigitalLife forums -- but only recently has the cracking tool garnered much attention from online news outlets.
